Hello!

Welcome to the Head in the Clouds website. My name is Heather McKay. I’m an Irish illustrator based in Dublin. I started Head in the Clouds all the way back in 2000 with the help of my big brother, Andrew as a way to showcase my work and sell my art.

Over the years I have created a lot of images. On this website you will find greeting cards and prints of my work, but if there is anything missing, please feel free to contact me!

I am happy to organise local pick up/delivery.

It is always exciting to create a new range of Christmas Cards!

It is mid-October, and marks the deadline for my new Christmas Card range. I sent the images off to the printer yesterday! I know it is hard to imagine, but I have been busy thinking up new designs since the end of the summer.

Julia and I try to make it to the café at Cabinteely Park most afternoons to draw. Afterwards we go for our walk, which is always wonderful. We have taken to sitting on a bench midway, where we practice our singing!

I have been designing a new Christmas card range every year since 1998! I gave up teaching in 2020, and honestly I think this is the first year I feel am fully back to myself.
